Whether you buy the textbook or not, you must purchase the Access kit to get into CourseCompass.  The textbook is online in CourseCompass too.

2. You may buy the standalone kit at the bookstore.  If you buy the book, make sure it comes with the access kit.  It may be cheaper than the publisher website and is faster.
